One of the reading goals I have for 2019 is to tackle the backlists’ books in my TBR list. It’s not a goal I take on lightly considering the size of my TBR list, which is frighteningly large, but I am stubborn enough to try. I’ve chosen to take the summer off school so I’m going to try and read a lot over the next four months before I step back into my graduate education.
I read quite widely – romance, fiction, non-fiction, science fiction and fantasy, young adult, comic books/graphic novels – and each of those genres has their own sub-genres and TBR pile. (Can you tell that I really love organization and slightly obsessive compulsive?)
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be breaking down each of those TBR piles and picking the books that I really want to read from each of those genres before the end of this year, and maybe this summer – maybe.
Of all the genre backlists that I want to tackle throughout the next few months’ romance is arguably the biggest of them all. I love this genre. I adore it. I love reading romance, hence why the backlist pile is as terrifyingly large as it currently stands. It’s so large that I’m not even going to attempt listing all the novels, I’m just going to list the authors because if I attempt to list all the backlist romance novels that I want to read and/or already own, we’re all going to be here for a while.

All of the authors listed span the course of the romance genre from contemporary to historical to paranormal. Many of these authors are quite prolific and have huge backlists. They are all authors that I have read or have been dying to read for years. For most of these authors, I have at least two or three novels from their backlists that I want to read, at least. Throughout the past few months, I have slowly been tackling a few of these authors’ backlists, but I’m not even close to scratching the surface of the backlist TBR I have for this genre. I’m hoping to make at least a sizeable dent in it before the summer is up.
